Yea until you are considered too old to marry and unwanted by a large part of the chinese society... that is a thing there, over 30 and for many men, you are too old.

Given the insane genger ratio I'm pretty sure that's going to change quickly. In the end we are talking about ~35 million chinese men who won't even have a chance to find a wife - though waiting very long may of course alter the potential choices. That on the other hand isn't really a chinese problem but one that most "western women" who wait longer face as well.

Some will probably settle and not have children. I think it would be fine if those 35 million single men just wanted a partner, but cultural values in China are completely different. Those 35 million single men aren’t just looking for a wife but also a mother to their children. In all likelihood, women in the article are going to get a hard pass because they’re considered too old for kids while the selection pressure for younger women will grow even larger in the decades to come.

Married women are expected to care for her husbands parents as well as her husband, and any children conceived. That’s a whole lot of responsibility for what exactly? They could have their own career, money and housing, so why would anyone truly want that much responsibility thrust upon them before the age of 25?
