It's such a fucking retarded system. Who thought it was a good idea when as an ebike rider the light is green for me to turn right. But while I'm turning right I'm having to dodge cars trying to turn into me and across me when their light is red.
I see accidents caused by this pretty much every week.

A lot countries allow this. Canada does.
You just have to learn the right of way rules;
Government plates expensive cars with vanity plates of several 8s or 6s expensive cars with common plates big rigs taxis common cars with A being the first letter in the plate as they come from the capital city of the province water trucks small trucks common cars mini cars motorcycle taxis (smaller cities) three wheeled motorcycle kuaidi wagons common wagons motorcycles kuaidi or waimai motorcycles moped taxis moped kuaidi or waimai moped with children standing or facing backwards then you.

Actually this is very much true. Former mayor of Bogota spoke about the issue of traffic priorities in the city. The way it is in good cities is based on carrying capacity: pedestrians > public transportation & bicycles > moving cars > parked cars. In countries like the former USSR China it's the other way around. China went even further and got rid of sidewalks all together it has parking lots that are shared with pedestrians. If you're too poor to buy a car old a woman with a stroller or wheelchair bound -- well tough luck.

You're supposed to stop first confirm that there's no other traffic then turn. Chinese drivers skip the stopping part and go right into the turn.

You forgot the "hit the accelerator and blare the horn" step. It's quite essential.

Because it's a much more effective system when people drive sensibly and follow the rules. China does neither but meibanfa.
I actually wish we did it in the UK. It'd work well there. Lots of European countries do it plus places like the US.

The kind of grid style traffic junctions that China and US have are really inefficient though. Round-a-bouts are the most effective at traffic management.

Sure but roundabouts + allowing right turns is even more efficient. Not every junction in the UK has a roundabout.

"Right on Red" is common in a lot of places. However they also have the "stop first and yield to others" step that China replaces with the "slam down the accelerator and blare your horn" step.

It is legal to turn right at a red light as is in the US. However when turning right at a red light you have lowest priority for right of way (right of way is not a concept here despite needing a 90% score on the driving exam)

This isn't a problem once you figure it out--but what's with the LEFT turn across oncoming traffic when the light turns green? That would be an absolute death move in the States.

You get used to it its legal here.
As said before you need to be careful and assume the worst (that a driver may speed up) conversely drivers will also assume the worst about you. If you are in a car or on an ebike use your indicators religiously for every little turn. It doesnt matter that others dont you cant trust others to even put them in the right direction (indicating left but going right) its to keep you just a teeny tiny bit safer.
If you see a Red truck approaching...RUN! They dont fuck around!

    红灯右行本身没毛病,有毛病的是绿灯右行,因为大多数司机根本就没有让行这个想法。最常见的情况就是绿灯时连绵不断的右行车生生把直行的行人和自行车堵到红灯,逼的行人和自行车过绿灯人行道好像横穿马路一样。

    我都不知道你们在哪生活,就说我生活的城市济南,因为三面环山 目前地铁还没开通,所以骑电动车的人非常多,但是开车的都很守规矩好吗,90%以上的司机右转都会礼让行人和骑车的人,经过斑马线也会礼让,反而很多骑电动车的人,明明就有非机动车道,甚至很多新修的路非机动车道都很宽,非得跑到机动车道上骑。
